This information is intended to familiarize the candidates, campaign treasurers, and residents with the duties and responsibilities required under Florida’s Election Laws and the City of Lake Helen Charter.
- Our General Elections are held annually on the date established by the Florida Election Code.
- Our Commissioners and Mayor are elected at-large.
- Terms of office for all seats are two (2) years, and there are no term limits.
- Municipal elections are non-partisan.

Please be advised that the last day to register poll watchers is 14 days before early voting begins for the General Election.

Canvassing Board
Pursuant to State law, the Volusia County Canvassing Board will canvass the returns of any City election that is held coincident with a county, state or federal election.

Logic & Accuracy Tests
In accordance with Section 101.5612 F.S., the Volusia County Department of Elections will conduct public, pre-election tests of the automatic tabulating equipment which will be used for early voting and at the polls for the City’s Elections.
